Ketchup has become such a common ingredient in cuisine that it’s hard to find a restaurant without one. There are more than 1,000 restaurants in New York City alone with ketchup on the menu. But New Yorkers are not just fans of ketchup – they love it so much that tomato sauce has become an industry with its own name: “Tomato”. The Italian word for this sauce begins with the letter “T” because it was named after the first person to bring ketchup to America – Thomas Tuttle (1774-1857). Ketchup has been widely used since the 1800s but we didn’t know anything about it until we started reading history.
Ketchup is often used as a condiment or ingredient. This pitch will look like a sandwich spread and will feature two types of tomatoes and slices of bread for an order of just ketchup.
I think that the marketing industry needs to change up their image and get relevant information about their products. They need to focus on what the consumer actually wants, and not what they think they want.
